ANDY’S PROJECT
Our philosophy
Together we can do more.
On my own, I can offer my experience as a dad and a programmer. Together, we can bring needs, ideas and skills together and turn them into something useful.
Starting with everyday life
The first ideas came from watching Andrea: what he enjoyed, what he could do on his own and where he needed help. Those are the questions I want to keep starting with.
For me, a tool makes sense when it finds a place in someone’s life. Being able to start a game independently or having another way to communicate are goals worth working towards.
Free means free
From the beginning, I wanted to make a clear commitment: Andy’s Project tools must be free to use, without advertising or extra costs.
The project is not for profit. The resources we devote to it go towards building and improving it, while keeping the software free. That choice is part of the very reason it began.
Sharing what we know
Families, associations, professionals and support centres gain valuable experience every day. I have felt first-hand how hard it can be to find that knowledge when it is scattered across so many places.
I would like it to be easier to meet, discuss ideas and shape practical proposals. A need described by a parent can meet the skills of someone able to build a tool; one family’s experience can help another.
Valuing time and transparency
Andy’s Project began as a private initiative by my company, digitalCode Sagl, and has also grown through the time given by volunteers. Behind it are people who chose to do something for others.
That is why I want it to be clear who is behind the project and what each contribution is for. Offering your time and skills is a gesture I value deeply: it is how one dad’s idea can become a shared project.
Let’s talk.
Have you had a similar experience? Do you have an idea or a skill to share? I’d be glad to hear from you.
