ANDY’S PROJECT
The project
Time to act.
Andy’s Project grew from a conviction shaped by life with my son Andrea: we can do more. I chose to put my technology experience at the service of autistic people and their families.
Turning an idea into practical help
Over the years, I found myself searching through scattered information and tools that did not always meet my son’s needs. As a programmer, I decided to try building something: software and ideas grounded in autistic people’s everyday lives.
Through digitalCode Sagl, I invested time and resources to bring Andy’s Project to life. The aim is to support communication, play and exploration with tools that families can use for free.
Starting with play
I observed Andrea’s routine, what interested him and what he found difficult. The starting point came naturally: play.
Those observations led to Puzzle Classic. Starting and restarting a game independently, choosing how much help to receive, using gentle sounds and images from everyday life: these were the project’s first design choices. Small decisions, tied to real needs.
A project to build together
There are many ideas, but I want to take one step at a time. The project also comes from a wish to bring together things that often stay apart: parents’ experiences, professionals’ skills and the time of people willing to help.
Andy’s Project is a nonprofit initiative. Its direction is clear: create free tools and build a collaboration around them that can be useful to people.
Let’s talk.
Have you had a similar experience? Do you have an idea or a skill to share? I’d be glad to hear from you.
